The price monitor, a tool that will display the retailers’ prices for various products and will allow consumers to compare them and identify the stores with the lowest prices, will be launched this week, after a long period of preparation, reports local Profit.ro.
The project’s version from last year, presented by Profit.ro, included up to 280 products from 70 categories.
Romania’s Competition Council will manage the platform. The effect will translate into a higher competition among retailers and should lead to lower prices.
The large retailers in Romania are Kaufland, Carrefour, Metro, Auchan, Lidl, Selgros, Cora, Penny Market, Profi, and Mega Image.
