China: State of the art strawberry greenhouse for Haisheng Group

VB Greenhouse Projects and Priva have successfully completed a new project for Haisheng Group in China in collaboration with PB Techniek. The project is a state-of-the-art greenhouse project for strawberry production. The project was accomplished in a record time of only 7 months.

On September 28, 2016, Meiny Prins (Priva CEO), John van der Wilk (VP Business Solutions of Priva), Edward Verbakel (Managing Director of VB Group) and Robert Marks (Sales Manager Export of VB Group) attended the opening ceremony of Haisheng’s Tongchuan project. Haisheng Co. Ltd. is one of the largest fruit juice producers in the world and specializes in fruit concentrates. The Haisheng Group has set up a diversified market network with products being mainly exported to the US, Canada, Germany, France, Australia, Russia and Japan.

Precise climate control
This 5-hectare glass greenhouse is the largest and most advanced glass greenhouse in China for growing strawberries. The greenhouse is equipped with two gas boilers which can provide heat and CO2 to 4 compartments of 1.25 hectare each. No matter what the climate is outside of the greenhouse, the climate inside is controlled by Priva Connext to create an optimal environment for strawberry production.

A complete irrigation solution
The project is furnished with a complete irrigation solution from Priva which includes the Neutralizer for water pre-treatment and removal of bicarbonate, the Vialux HD for water disinfection, and the NutriFlex for mixing water with fertilizer. Young strawberry plants have already been planted and the first harvest is expected in November.

Labour management with Priva
The project is also special because Haisheng is the first customer in China to use Priva FS Performance for labour management. FS Performance allows management to collect real time data about employees, performance, work efficiency, completed tasks, productivity, production and yield.
