US: Low tunnel strawberries continue to produce in Minnesota fall

‘Albion’ day neutral strawberries grown under low tunnels at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul are still producing.

In research conducted by graduate student Heidi Anderson, picking frequency has been scaled back from peak production in September, but now good yields are still harvested once per week. And some say the berries taste sweeter with the cooler temperatures of fall!

Tunnel sides are rolled down if night temperatures are expected to dip below 40 degrees F.
