Ronald Visser, The Rootstock Company

"We hope to achieve better results for nurseries and growers"

Ronald Visser is the managing director of The Rootstock Company, which specializes in rootstock seeds and focuses exclusively on root-functionality and its influence on plant performance. The company is located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and it is a fairly new business.

"It was founded about one and a half years ago, and we are active mainly in European countries but looking to expand to Mexico, mainly because it has a huge market.”

“Something definitely unique in our company is that we focus only on rootstock seeds. What we hope to achieve in the end are better results for both nurseries and growers, and I think by really focusing and specializing in this area it will eventually lead to it. We’re still starting but in the end we will have a better knowledge on how the interaction between the root system and the rest of the plant works, so the idea is to increase that knowledge and enhance performance.”
