Monsanto decided to appoint Agility Agriculture as exclusive distributor for more than half of Seminis vegetable seed products in the UK & Ireland.
The newly-formed UK-based company will provide uninterrupted business continuity and supply to Monsanto’s previous vegetable growers with effect from the 1st September 2016.
Monsanto has given Agility Agriculture the responsibility for ten crops in the high-quality Seminis seed range: Carrot, Leek, Lettuce, Spinach, Courgette, fresh market Pea, fresh market Bean, Onion, Bunching Onion and Sweetcorn. Brassica customers will continue to be served by Monsanto directly through Duncan Griffiths and Grainne Meade.
Monsanto have chosen Agility Agriculture as a partner because it is composed of experienced technical sales, customer service, marketing and accounts specialists and several members of the teams are former employees of Monsanto who played a key role in developing the Seminis portfolio with growers. Led by Managing Director Tom Hart, Monsanto’s former Commercial Lead for North Europe, the focus remains on customers.
Agility Agriculture will provide customers with a full range of services to maximize their returns from using Seminis varieties. These include agronomic services to facilitate variety trials, technical sales advice and a locally based premium distribution service for all products.
