Co-founders of Little Leaf Farms, Paul Sellew and Tim Cunniff, announce that their baby greens are now in all New England Shaw’s and Star Market supermarkets. Little Leaf Farms brings consumers year-round, Massachusetts grown baby greens.
Little Leaf Farms, featured on the July 19th episode of Chronicle (WCVB-TV Channel 5 Boston), was born from the idea of providing locally grown baby greens to New England consumers. “98% of the lettuce we consume is grown in California and Arizona, and it takes six to seven days to ship it here,” said Paul Sellew, founder and CEO of Little Leaf Farms. “The idea was: How can we move the needle and deliver fresh product that is locally grown?”
Located in Devens, MA, Little Leaf Farms has built an advanced greenhouse that can produce year-round, locally grown baby greens that gives New England consumers an alternative to West Coast grown lettuce.
“Our goal is to continue to be transparent and have a conversation with the consumer,” said Tim Cunniff, EVP of Sales and Marketing. “To many people, local means a lot more than location; you want to know how your food is produced and how it is grown. Creating this relationship is very important to us. We were able to do it at Backyard Farms and we are looking forward to doing it here at Little Leaf Farms.”
In addition to Shaw’s and Star Market, New England consumers can find Little Leaf Farms at Hannaford Supermarkets, Stop & Shop, Market Basket and Big Y.
