Canada: Strawberry varieties field day in Alberta

Hort Snacks in the Field presents a Strawberry Varieties field day on August 29, 2016, at the Jungle Farm, located at 28120 Township Road 362, at Red Deer (north of Innisfail).

“This field day will provide strawberry growers with an opportunity to visit a strawberry production operation to learn about different June-bearing and day-neutral-type strawberry varieties,” says Robert Spencer, commercial horticulture specialist, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry. “This interactive field day encourages participants to learn from each other, as well as the host farm.”

Things get under way with registration at 11:30 a.m. followed by a lunch at noon. The farm tour goes from 1-3 p.m. Cost is $10 per person and includes lunch and snacks. To register, call 1-800-387-6030 by August 22.
