Rock Solid Greenhouse in Taylorville covers 3.75 acres (163,000 sq. ft.), offering 8 bays in double poly arch style and 10 bays in Venlo glass. The facility was constructed in 2007, and designed specifically to use renewable waste heat. Radiant floor heating is available in all 18 bays, providing heat at a significantly discounted cost to conventional heating systems.
Originally constructed by a high quality builder as a floral operation, it has most recently been used for herb production. This modern greenhouse has Argus control systems for irrigation and fertilization, as well as a conveyer belt system. Thermostat controlled ceiling vents and side venting add to efficiency of a full automated shade/energy shield system.
The attached 20,000 sq. ft. head house includes 7 offices, conference room, potting room, tool storage room, boiler room, 2 loading docks, break room, and ample storage capacity with 24’ of clearance inside warehouse.
