Grow-Tech, a 30-year veteran of the stabilized growing media industry, announces the release of PUREgrown hemp-felt. The PUREgrown hemp-felt is OMRI listed and is manufactured in the USA from 100% natural fibers grown without the use of pesticides or herbicides. PUREgrown hemp-felt combines superior growing characteristics specifically formulated for the organic production of micro-greens, salad greens and wheatgrass.
The hydroponic production of micro-greens and salad greens is an industry that has grown significantly in the last 5 years. Driven by the healthy local food movement, water resource issues and food safety concerns, controlled environment growers are always looking for a more effective sustainable growing media that allows for rapid healthy growth but is also made from renewable materials. “We see tremendous opportunity in continuously updating our formulations and designing new products that reflect our commitment to offering growing media that meets the changing needs of the grower,” says Grow-Tech CEO, Edwin Dijkshoorn.
