Frozen broccoli cuts, sold in 11 US states under the Save-A-Lot label of Wylwood, have been recalled by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration due to a fear of listeria, found during a random test of the vegetables in Ohio.
Alimentos Congelados, S.A. announced a voluntary recall of 1,800 cases of frozen broccoli cuts because possible health risks.
The cut broccoli was distributed to stores in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and North Carolina.
The recalled Wylwood brand that some of the broccoli is packaged in inside 16-ounce plastic bags has specific label information consumers should look out for, CNN reported. Its label information is UPC 5193300110 and the bag code is A25335P or A15335P.
"The company has ceased distribution of frozen broccoli cuts, and is fully cooperating with regulatory agencies," the FDA recall announcement said.
The company urged anyone who has this product to throw it away.
