Canada: Serres Toundra takes shape in Quebec
The preparation for the construction at the project for the large Canadian greenhouse grower Serres Toundra in Quebec is in full swing. If all goes as planned, four new greenhouse sections of 85,000 m2 should be operational in 2019. The construction of the first section is about to start. The new greenhouses will use the residual heat and CO2 from a nearby paper plant. This factory provides enough heat to allow the pilot to expand to 200-300 hectares.

AAB is responsible for all the management support for Serres Toundra. AAB and Serres Toundra selected bidders for this project. They chose the following army of Dutch partners: Plant Company for the plant material; Delphy for cultivation support; Van der Waay will deliver the greenhouse roof cleaner; Kubo will construct the greenhouse, screens and gutters; Stolze will install water, electronics, lighting and heating; Berg Hortimotive will do the internal logistics and Hortimat and Taks will provide the sorting machines.
Serres Toundra will grow cucumbers and mini-cucumbers. All of the production will be sold on the local market for the next five years.
