Five topics at Indoor Ag-Con Asia

Indoor Ag-Con Asia will discuss the following topics at their inaugural Asia event on January 18 and 19, 2016 in Singapore

1. The seven aspects of indoor growing
In his recently released book – “Plant Factory: An Indoor Vertical Farming System for Efficient Quality Food Production” – Dr. Toyoki Kozai outlined seven aspects of growing in vertical farms, and we’ve built the first day of our event around his approach, with talks from leading academics in areas such as LED light recipe development and nutrient solution control.
2. The fully automated farm
One of the hottest topics in indoor farming is automation and our control-company speakers in our session entitled “What are the Prospects and Perils of Automation of Vertical Farms?” will discuss the cutting edge of this trend. We also have a keynote from Japanese farming leader Spread, who announced their plans for a fully automated farm just a few months’ ago. Need a primer? Check out our Robotics & Automation White Paper.
3. The next generation of container farming
With some of the densest cities in the world, Asia is a natural fit for the next generation of container farms. One example is China’s Alesca Life, which has developed an automated container farm, and who will be joining us fresh off their TechCrunch Disrupt win in Beijing.
4. What’s next in LED lighting
With sharp falls in LED light price and concomitant efficiency in recent years, we’re seeing increasing interest in introducing LED lighting in environments from greenhouse through to fully controlled environment facilities. Our three speakers in this session will update us on what’s next in this fascinating area.
5. What a customer wants
Adrien Desbaillets founded healthy salad chain SaladStop! a few years’ back with the aim of bringing fresh local salads to Asia. With its roots in Singapore, the company now has outlets in the Philippines and has further expansion plans across Asia. He’ll be joining us to talk about his approach to food and work with local farms.
