Ellegaard was nominated in the Cleantech category in the world's largest entrepreneur & growth competition this year. An independent jury of professionals voted Ellegaard as winner, for its "significant environmental profile and real & unique cleantech product - Ellepot".
"Solutions in cleantech come in many different forms and with major international perspectives. Ellegaard has created significant growth on a new and alternative area. The company has a very global mindset and has already seen and utilized a huge export potential, and today is more global than it is national," said Carsten Kjær, partner at EY and responsible for Cleantech category.
Sustainable system - worldwide
The jury noted that Ellegaard's unique propagation system, Ellepot, is environmentally friendly and easily degradable medium pots, ensuring faster, stronger and more uniform germination of the plants. At the same time the grower achieves significant efficiency gains and increased flexibility in the production. Carsten Kjær added: “The winner company is taking resource problems into their hands. By using their product, which in itself is sustainable, they are reducing resource consumption compared to the use of conventional products."
Ellegaard was represented by CEO Lars Steen Pedersen and R&D Manager Thomas L.Tranberg.
