The cooperation between TTP and Hortilux started in 2014 with the supply of grow light fixtures for 10 hectares of tomato and cucumber cultivation, and 1 hectare for the propagation of young plants in Lukhovitsy. Based on this collaboration, steps have now been taken towards delivery of fixtures for 2.5 hectares before the end of 2015. This will be followed in 2016 by a further 5 hectares of grow light fixtures for tomato cultivation. As light penetration into the crop is key, TTP has specifically chosen the Hortilux BETA reflectors. These reflectors have been specially designed for tall crops like tomatoes. The Hortilux BETA reflector has the deepest light penetration available in the market.
Hortilux has been active on the Russian market for many years and until recently these activities were mainly coordinated from the head office in the Netherlands. In order to optimally serve this major growth market, Orchan Koelijev was appointed account manager for Hortilux in Russia in the summer of 2015, followed by the opening of a Hortilux office in Moscow in September 2015. “Our customer-specific solutions, which focus on profitability, are highly valued by the Russian market. Establishing a local market presence will now allow us to expand our services,” explains Orchan Koelijev.
