Horticulture technologies during TPG Exhibition Taiwan

Taiwanese growers willing to improve production with Dutch technology

Last week from November 19-22 the first TPGE show was held in Taipei World Trade Centre in Taiwan. The exhibition was a mix of plant factory and greenhouse horticulture participants. Around 60 booths filled Hall 3 of the Trade Centre which is just under the famous Taipei 101 tower which is 508 meters tall.

Ms. Amy So (THEP), Barry Zuidgeest (Mardenkro), Tatung mascotte and Mr. Jackson Chen (THEP).

Mr. Mitch Hu (Royal Base) and Ms. Julia Charnaya (General Manager Priva Asia)

The show focused on investors of urban farming and greenhouse growers. Most of the participants were local companies, but in the middle of the hall a Dutch pavilion was organized by the Netherlands Trade & Investment Office. Some of well-known Dutch companies were present like, Priva, Ridder Group, Metazet, Philips LED, De Ruiter and Mardenkro. These companies have already been present in Taiwan for many years. The Taiwanese growers are willing to improve their production further and with the right equipment, Dutch technology can help them. During the show visitors could participate in one of the many seminars about Priva climate control, Philips LED or Hortimax Irrigation systems.

Philips LED

For more than 8 years Mardenkro has been present in Taiwan. This country has a subtropical climate and even in winter time temperatures can be over 30 degrees Celsius. For most growers there is a need to cool their greenhouse. Although many growers have outside screens, more and more choose to replace or combine this with one of the ReduSystems coatings. The shading agents are adopted to cope with the tropical rains that occur in Taiwan. Mardenkro's local partner, Tsing Hua Environmental Protection (THEP), who is the Philips LED partner as well, was happy about the exhibition and the support he got from both Philips and Mardenkro.
