Australia: Kagome invests $21million to boost Echuca plant

Kagome is set to expand with a $21 million investment in the Echuca plant. Acting Victorian Premier Peter Ryan and Member for Rodney Paul Weller announced government support of hundreds of thousands of dollars during their visit to the factory on January 7, 2014. Investment will flow into 3 key projects – the growing and processing of carrots, a new pouch packing facility and the construction of a new waste water plant. Mr Ryan said that the investment would improve Kagome’s competitiveness against foreign imports and allow the company to replace those with Victorian produce.
