Syngenta reorganization also costs Dutch jobs

The worldwide Syngenta group, which develops and sells flower and vegetable seeds, is reorganizing. In the Netherlands at least 20 jobs will be lost in the short term in the research and development flowers department.



Earlier the specific business units of flower and vegetable seeds were put on sale by Syngenta. An acquisition by Monsanto was recently aborted. Jeroen Brandenburg, FNV Agrarisch Groen negotiator: "We’re also waiting to see how Syngenta’s sales process will develop."

Besides selling the department of research and development flowers is also being reorganized. Syngenta has indicated that in the Netherlands 20 of the 180 jobs will certainly be lost in this department.

Syngenta has offices in the Netherlands among others in Enkhuizen, Andijk, De Lier and Bergen op Zoom.
