Launch of greenhouseipm.org

Canada: Free workshop covers all the components of thrips IPM

The new website www.greenhouseipm.org offers up-to-date information on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and biological control in a greenhouse setting. It provides detailed description of pests and their biocontrol agents as well as instructions on how to use biocontrols within an IPM program.

In its initial phase, it focuses on two key pests — whiteflies and thrips — and their control. Over time, the website will evolve to encompass all common types of insects and mite pests, as well as diseases of greenhouse crops.

As part of the website launch, there will be two opportunities to participate in a free workshop which will cover all the components of thrips IPM and how they fit into a greenhouse production system.
