Fresh Academy: the first horticultural practical knowledge and trainee institute in Vietnam

Last month, The Fresh Academy project was launched in Vietnam. The project is organised by the Dutch partners HAS Hogeschool, Lentiz, Wageningen UR, Demokwekerij Westland and Kenlog and her Vietnamese partners Fresh Studio and the universities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong and Dong Thap.

Potential trainees from four different regions in Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat en Dong Thap) attended the kick-off meeting of the Fresh Academy project.

The 'Fresh Academy' is a practical knowledge and trainee institute for the horticultural sector, in different locations of Vietnam. For that purpose instructors will be trained in a so called Training-of-Trainers (ToT) section. Next to that curricula, learning material and a business case will be developed for the Fresh Academy.

In practise

The development of skills in the field of outdoor crops or indoor crops, is an important part of the Fresh Academy project. After a short introduction of the different topics which will be treated at the ToT section, the trainees were given different assignments related to substrate, light, EC and pH and crop protection techniques.
