Canada: Biobest organizes IPM Day at Lacombe, Alberta

You are invited to an educational day, hosted by Biobest Canada. Join them for information on the latest innovations from the field of IPM. Have you been practicing IPM for years? Speakers:

Veronica Cervantes –Biobest USA and Mexico
Veronica has more than 15 years of experience in the IPM field. She has worked extensively throughout Canada, USA, Mexico and Central America. She started out in Argentina, where she mass-reared Orius for thrips-control. She has worked in many different situations and crops- from small greenhouses to large greenhouse facilities. She lectures on all aspects involved with a proper IPM program. Veronica and her family live in Michigan, where she works with growers in the Midwest.

Edwin Hogendoorn- Direct Solutions
Edwin has worked for many years as a grower in Ontario and in Alberta. He will be addressing a relevant topic for growers. He is a great resource for fertilizer, chemical and growing questions.



Charlie Mckenzie-Tagawa Greenhouses
While studying for a BSc in Horticulture at the University of Georgia Charlie was awarded a scholarship to move to Colorado for six months for an internship with Tagawa Greenhouses. On graduating in 2013 he was offered a grower position at the company’s New Mexico facility – a move of 1400 miles to Estancia. He is now the Site Manager, responsible for all growing, operations and site management. Having spotted his potential early on, the Tagawa family has invested an immense amount of trust in Charlie giving him the confidence to develop and implement an impressive full biological control strategy. Charlie is also an excellent resource for any of your growing questions. 

Emiel Vanderwel- Biobest
A grower in ornamental greenhouse for many years, he is now working with Biobest in Canada and the USA. Emiel travels in North America and works with customers for all their biological control needs.

Admission is free and lunch will be provided. Please limit to 3 persons per company. Government agencies, please 1 per facility.
