India: PWD to use recycled water for horticulture

Recycled water will be used by the Public Works Department for all its horticulture needs, leading to a saving of 1.75 million litres of groundwater every day.

Following suggestions by the Delhi Jal Board, the PWD will be including a provision in all its contracts for horticultural works making the use of recycled water mandatory from October onwards. The DJB said recycled water will be available at its wastewater treatment plants across Delhi for the PWD to use.
