HelloFresh, the German supplier of meal boxes, made 75 million euros in a new round of finance. This lifts the value of the company to around 2.6 billion euros, it was announced on Thursday. HelloFresh supplies millions of boxes with ingredients and recipes to subscribers in the Benelux, Germany, the United States and Great Britain every month.
The majority shareholder is Rocket Internet, the German investor in up-and-coming internet businesses. This company was an early moneylender for the webstore Zalando. On Wednesday it was confirmed that carpool service BlaBlaCar from France received 200 million dollars worth of finance from investors, making the value of the start up 1.6 billion dollars.
