Jordan's exports of fruits and vegetables increased by 3.5 per cent in August reaching 88,000 tons compared to the same month in 2014, according to official figures.
A total of 86,100 tons were exported to the Gulf states, while 1,900 tons of the local exports went to other countries, a report by the Agricultural Ministry said.
The report revealed that tomatoes constituted 66 per cent of the vegetables exported.
The country's total exports of fruits and vegetables during the first eight months of the year amounted to 580,000 tons, compared to 626,000 tons recorded during the same period of 2014, a decrease by 7.5 percent, the report added.
