You know Dallas and the month of October. The rest of that headlines indicates that four associations—All-America Selections, National Garden Bureau, the Home Garden Seed Association and the Perennial Plant Association—will be joining forces in Dallas in October (5 to 9, to be exact), with the first three holding a summer conference and trials called “Urban Ag Opportunities” and PPA hosting a regional symposium on October 5. Which means if you’re in the seed, plant, annual or perennial business (and that’s just about all of you), there’ll be plenty to do and see.
Highlight of the whole deal, I think, is the three-day tour (interspersed with educational sessions) in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. There’ll be stops at Agrilife Research Center, home of Food 3.0 and the Growtainer™ container farm, garden centers, the Dallas Arboretum, Ft. Worth Botanical Garden, a food park, a farmers’ market and more. There’s even a tequila and chocolate tasting one evening.
