Chillies are in demand in the UK just now, as it has been very hot in Spain which has affected supply and the supply from Holland is also down.
Martin Bond from Just Chillies said that the UK season is just getting starting and there is a good demand for the domestic crop.
The UK season is also running a bit behind schedule due to dull weather, which has contributed to the gap in the market.
Just Chillies grows 30-40 different varieties of chillies in around 2 acres of polytunnels, although they do supply the wholesale markets most of the production goes to their processing factory to provide a large range of sauces. Just Chillies is one the largest producers of chilli sauce in the UK
