In collaboration with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food & Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), growers, educators and industry, the Canadian Greenhouse Conference has prepared a speakers program that addresses the challenges faced by today’s growers. From production issues to controlling labour and energy costs, experts from across Canada and around the world will share insight and solutions tailored to our Canadian market and growing conditions.
Hands-on and interactive, the CGC workshops are an excellent resource. Offered this year: Insect ID Basics, Nutrient Solutions, Human Capital, and Production Efficiencies. Space may be limited and some require preregistration – check the website for details.
Considered a fringe industry in the past, the production of Medicinal Cannabis seems to be gaining momentum as social and political climates change. This year, the CGC includes a Medicinal Crops session in their program. Sean Westerveld, Ginseng and Medicinal Herb Specialist with OMAFRA will briefly cover the application procedure and address the most common production questions. Cole Cacciavillani, Aphria Inc., provides a growers perspective outlining the choices and challenges faced by medical marijuana growers.
Complete program information, speaker biographies and session summaries are available on our website and the CGC app www.CanadianGreenhouseConference.com
The GCG would like to thank their session sponsors: Farm Credit Canada, BASF, PL Light Systems, Vineland Research and Innovation Centre, Grodan and Ball Seed
