12th of May in Zeist

Netherlands: India seminar for Dutch (semi-)processed food companies

The Embassy of The Netherlands in New Delhi and Larive International jointly organize a seminar: “the Opportunities & Challenges for Dutch (Semi-) Processed Food Companies in India”, the 12th of May in Zeist.

The Embassy has assigned Third Eyesight, an Indian consulting firm focused on the retail and consumer products ecosystem, to execute a market study on “The market for processed food in India”. This report will be presented by Devangshu Dutta, director of Third Eyesight. The full report will be available during the seminar.

The report provides an overview of the economic growth in India, the consumer base and its key characteristics, the food retail and services environment, market structure of various food product categories, growth potential and areas of opportunity for imported products, the regulatory framework and possible routes to market for Dutch companies.

Although India is an abundant producer of dairy products, meat products, fruits and vegetables and sugar, the value-added processed products in all these categories present a growing market. India is also growing as a market for new products such as breakfast cereals, pasta, infant food, bakery products, foreign liquor and different types of oils and sauces. This offers opportunities for Dutch companies active in these sectors.

Next to presenting the report, we have invited interesting entrepreneurs who will also share their experiences in India. Also the agricultural counsellor, Wouter Verhey, will be present at the event. The detailed program will be published on this website soon.

Please register for this seminar by sending an e-mail before 27th of April to info@larive.nl, mentioning your name and company name. If you have questions please feel free to contact us.
