UK: Leading ladies find new ways to attract agricultural talent
Over fifty women working in the agricultural and horticultural sectors met at a recent ‘Ladies in Agriculture’ event to discuss how to attract new people into their industry.
The event at the Farmers Club in London was hosted by Christine Tacon, Groceries Code Adjudicator and supported by fresh-sector recruitment company MorePeople.
Several leading female figures from industry organisations, retail supply chain, charity sector and the agricultural media attended the event, along with a number of both up and coming and experienced professionals from the legal and financial sectors as well individual farming businesses.
Christine Tacon, Groceries Code Adjudicator, who developed the event, said: “It never ceases to amaze people coming to our Ladies in Agriculture events how many of us there are and the range of jobs we do. It is proving to be an excellent networking opportunity and ideal for the future generation of leaders to find mentors - and it’s great that we now have MorePeople on board to help with the sponsorship, promotion and organisation of future events.”
