Last week the companies Royal Brinkman and Alzallaq Farming Supplies in Bahrain signed a contract for intense cooperation to supply the Horticulture in the Middle East countries. All professional growers with protected crops will get the benefit now of buying locally the Dutch horticultural quality products. Mr. Ep van den Brink (area manager of Royal Brinkman for the Middle East) is very pleased with this unique collaboration. He mentioned : “it meets exactly what growers in the Middle East requested for many years already. This new company will hold stock of the most important products. Regular transport from Holland to Bahrein makes it possible to supply also less common goods without additional transport costs .”
Sheik Rashid bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, general manager of Peninsular Farms, signed the contract with great confidence in the future. The name of the specialized company for the modern horticulture is Alzallaq Horticultural Supplies. The head office and the stock will be in AlZallaq, Bahrain, from where the distribution will take place to the neighbour countries.
Mr. Grahame Dunling Chief Operation Officer at Peninsula Farms: “It is exceptionally how good the two companies match”. Mr. Grahame Dunling knows Royal Brinkman for a long time - his wife worked for many years at Brinkman in the UK – and was searching for contact to get professional products and support for their existing 4 hectares greenhouses.
The visit of Sheik Rashid and Grahame Dunling to the Royal Brinkman Head office in the Netherlands earlier this year had two goals: cooperation for distribution in the Middle East and upgrading of the present greenhouse in Bahrain. With the new cooperation and the upgrades of the project Alzallaq Horticultural Supplies wants to show to local horticultural colleagues that it is possible to grow quality products in this region.
Alzallaq Horticultural Supplies will be present next year at the Garden Exhibition in Bahrain (February) and the AGRAme in Dubai (March).
Royal Brinkman will support not only by supplying products , but also will provide horticultural technical knowledge.
Royal Brinkman is existing 130 years next year and is worldwide active in more than 100 countries. The total dedicated staff is more than 250, of which about 95 are active in of for the export markets.
