Back in 2012 Swedeponic invested in the new FL300 from Fionia Lighting for a greenhouse unit near Goteburg in Sweden. The installation comprised of 92 FL300 fixtures and the climate control from Senmatic called the LCC4. The focus was integration into the production flow, and to have an installation large enough so that the results were cred- ible and verified. There are several results coming from different LED companies claiming amazing things with a 2-4 fixture trial in a small room. In order to have a full validation a complete climate zone is necessary where you control not only light, but temperature, humidity, production flow, germination and a lot of other parameters.
Now the question is why is a facility from 2012 breaking news? Well, after testing a number of LED solutions from other companies they choose this summer to invest in the new FL300 fixture from Fionia for their Stockholm divi- sion. The new installation is based on the findings from the first two growth seasons in Goteburg and the Stockholm division will mainly focus on lettuce production.
The installation will be larger than the Goteburg installation, and we cannot wait to share pictures of this installation when it is up and running producing LED quality salad.
About the fixture
The FL300 LED top-light is a 600 watt fixture emitting light in the photosynthetic active region of the visible light spectrum. The Spectrums can be designed for individual crops in combination with Senmatic LCC 4 climate control systems. An alternative to the LCC 4 climate control system is a small Control Unit which controls up to 49 fixtures.
FL300 is CE marked according to standards in horticultural lighting and ROHS compliant.
