“Employing our award-winning AngelaWeb software programme and Agrolution all-in-one fertigation range, Everris is delivering tailored precision nutrition programmes to UK fruit growers bringing benefits in yield, quality and convenience,” says Scott Garnett, Everris specialty agriculture manager speaking at Fruit Focus today.
In today’s competitive marketplace, fruit growers are increasingly looking for flexible nutrition solutions designed to match the specific needs of their crops at key growth stages. Until now most have relied on water-soluble crystalline fertilizers, which if mixed in cold water require regular stirring and agitated - although settlement often still occurs at the bottom of the mix tank. To ensure nutritional demands are fully met, production teams have to carefully calculate and add different trace elements, depending on the crop growth stage and the water quality.
“In contrast, employing AngelaWeb and Agrolution this process is greatly simplified while the precision is greatly improved,” says Scott Garnett. “For each production site, our agronomists require an analysis of the water source and the crop culture. With this data AngelaWeb establishes the crop’s nutritional needs at key growth phases at each production site and determines the exact rates of Agrolution required. Growers are finding this an attractive proposition.”
Agrolution products have a dual objective; to make nutrients available in the correct proportions while solving water quality problems. The Agrolution pHLow range is designed for hard water while the Agrolution Special range is for soft water.
Everris also used Fruit Focus as a platform to showcase Select PeKacid. This patented new highly acidifying and 100% soluble potassium and phosphate fertigation fertilizer is recommended for areas with hard water or calcareous soils.
“By lowering pH PeKacid enhances nutrient uptake and also has anti-clogging action,” explains Scott Garnett. “Chloride and sodium free, it contains solid phosphoric acid in a dry form thus combining the advantages and efficiency of phosphoric acid with the ease and safety of a solid crystalline fertilizer.”
