BrightFarms asks for help to build hydroponic greenhouse in Washington

BrightFarms is thrilled to announce the launch of their crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. As they prepare to break ground in Washington, DC on the world's most productive urban farm, they're turning to the BrightFarms community to request your help. A successful Indiegogo campaign will provide confidence to investors and help secure the money they need to build the greenhouse.

A state-of-the-art greenhouse farm

At 120K square feet, the greenhouse will be the most productive urban farm in the world. Earlier this year BrightFarms entered into an agreement with the grocer Giant Food who will be the exclusive retailer in the nation’s capital region of BrightFarms’ year round local produce. The greenhouse development team is literally in Washington, DC right now submitting the permit applications.

The campaign runs until September 16, 2014. At indiegogo.com you can contribute any amount, from $5 on up. BrightFarms developed an extensive list of perks, which you can view on their campaign page.
