Screen installation maintenance: replacing your polyester wire

The screen installation is a mechanical component subject to wear-and-tear. Maintenance is certainly necessary. Many of these procedures, though, you can perform yourself.

A common DIY job is the application of polyester wire conductors under the profile. A big advantage of this is that the wires have no direct contact with the aluminium. Aluminium oxidizes black and settles on the polyester, in turn staining your screen cloth. This is a job that you can do by yourself without any problems.

Polyester wire replacement is very labour intensive. With the right tools, though, it is doable. Screen cloth, polyester wiring, tape, rope and a special compact machine are available from DoekenDraad.
