sale set for Today: Friday Dec. 6:

US(LA): Poinsettia open house at LSU AgCenter Today

The LSU AgCenter will host a poinsettia open house and sale Today, from 8 a.m. at the Botanic Gardens at Burden, which is located at 4560 Essen Lane near the junction of I-10 in Baton Rouge.

More than 1,000 poinsettia plants will be on display and for sale that day. Prices range from $6 to $8, depending on size.

“We have trial plants from four poinsettia breeders this year – Ball, Syngenta, Dummen USA and Selecta,” said Jeff Kuehny, Botanic Gardens director.

Those attending the open house will be asked to vote on their favourite new varieties. “This will guide me and my research team on which ones to evaluate,” Kuehny said.

Proceeds from the sale go to fund research at the Botanic Gardens. For additional information, contact Sonya T. Gordon at (225) 763-3990.
