Europe: 1.9 million Euro funding for Dutch horticultural research

To give innovation in the Dutch Greenport a boost, six Innovation and Demonstration Centres (IDCs) in Westland, Lansingerland and Greenport Duin & Bollenstreek together received 1.9 million Euro in European funding.

Demokwekerij Westland houses the Techno Centrum Glastuinbouw, in which the IDC Robotica was officially opened on October 2, 2013. Demokwekerij Westland has committed itself to working with TU Delft, TNO and businesses to set up a €800,000 project to make robotics and mechatronics applicable for horticulture.

This project, in its three-year run, is supported with a grant of €400,000 made available by the ERDF program ‘Opportunities for West '.
