Italy's tomato production below 4 mln tonnes

According to Agranet, the industrial production of tomato preserves and related products has fallen by 15% in Italy, after a tomato crop in the country which Coldiretti described as one of the lowest of the decade. Statistical data shows that overall industrial production of food, beverages and tobacco in Italy fell by 5.4% in August. The lower tomato output accounted for much of that figure, Coldiretti maintains.
