Kenya: First resuts of better water management study to be presented

On Friday September 20, GreenFarming wil held the seminar “Improved rose cultivation through better water management”. This seminar is held at the Naivasha Sports Club in Naivasha, Kenya.

The aim of the seminar is to share the results of the Green Farming Water Management Demonstration Project with the Kenyan sector. Last year this project was put into practice and for a period of two years the project is providing the Kenyan sector and Dutch partners information on the impact of water-saving technologies on production results, water and fertilizer use and resulting financial implications.

During the seminar the project brochure with results of the first project year will officially be presented to the sector. In the presentations the results of the coco-peat based hydroponic system will be explained benchmarked against the conventional soil cultivation system. Data will be presented for water and fertilizer savings, production quantity and quality improvements, and resulting financial parameters.
