Production in full swing: Campari soup made by Tasty Tom
Dutch company Ties' Soup has its work cut out. This week a truckload of Tasty Tom campari tomatoes was delivered at the company’s doorstep, all of which are to be processed into tomato soup. "The sweet-and-sour taste of the campari works very well," says Ties Robben, maker of Tasty Tom soup. In the soup go whole tomatoes, fresh and ripe. No damaged or rejected products.
Besides Tasty Tom soup, Ties' Soup also makes Bangkok chicken soup, Marrakech Lentil soup and Shanghai Tomato soup (also with Tasty Tom tomatoes). This summer, the company also introduced three Gazpacho’s, tomatoes, vegetables & herbs and peas and mint. The gazpacho's are already available at retailers Spar, Em-Te and Marqt. Starting next week they will also be on the shelves of Albert Heijn.
The Tasty Tom soup is sold at EMTÉ, Dane and MCD. "It's going well, but the soup market is not an easy one," says Robben. Therefore, he started looking for other outlets and found one: the tomatoes processed at Ties' Soup can be found in the Sligro Christmas hampers this December.
