Hans Derks, FresQ Sales:
Capricious pepper market for Dutch growers this month
"If wetake a close look at the pepper market over the past few weeks, we can see an irregularpattern in regard to price formation, demand and supply," says head ofsales Hans Derks of FresQ Sales. "Large supplies and low demands caused pricesto collapse late last week. The market was quick to respond to this, and due to reduced supply prices quickly recovered."
Hans Derks
"Fortunately the prices are somewhat stabilizing now. In the coming week we should also see some promotional activities aimed at various European retailers," continues Hans. "The Russian market isn’t yet very eager to buy, but luckily Japan and the US are there to fill in the gaps.”
