HortiMaX introduces Synopta 3

It’s been a year full of innovation at HortiMaX. During the Horti Fair, we launched the HortiMaX CX500, the new standard in adaptive greenhouse technology, which was nominated for an Innovation Award. We also upgraded our Aqua CX300, VitaLite and labour and harvest registration systems. Now it’s the turn of our Synopta user interface, with the upcoming release of version 3.1. Thanks to the software’s many new features, this release will get us off to an innovative start in 2013. And we have many more innovations in store.

Easier to use thanks to improved design

For years, our Synopta user interface has led the market in simplicity, transparency, ease of use and reliability. To further strengthen this position, Synopta 3.1 will be even easier to use and more transparent, so you can work faster. This upgrade will have a similar look and feel to Office applications, providing a familiar and intuitive user experience. With its modern design, Synopta 3.1 will be future proof and compatible with the latest Windows versions (except for Windows RT).

User rights

Given the increased scale in horticulture, we have completely overhauled Synopta’s user rights feature. SynGroup, the component that manages user rights, has been expanded considerably. Although previous versions allowed you to control multiple sites from one process computer, you weren’t able to manage the authorisation details of each site. Synopta 3.1 will include this ability, so you can restrict access to functions by site, by control, by summary and by category. When assigning user rights, you can even distinguish between read and/or write privileges and no privileges. This means you’ll no longer have to worry about other users changing settings they shouldn’t. These improvements in user rights management will not only make Synopta easier to use, but will also help protect your business.

Operating levels

Synopta 3.1 will introduce a feature called ‘operating levels’. This will allow you to set filters, so particular functions will remain hidden to certain users, such as basic, advanced, expert or service users. In this way, you can adjust the difficulty level of Synopta, so beginners will quickly learn how to use the software.

Intuitive tables and graphs

Many of our customers create separate graphs for each block, heating system or irrigation group in Synopta. This will no longer be necessary in version 3.1. Since the software is more intuitive, you’ll only need one graph to display a wide range of variables assigned to a specific category. A graph or table will automatically determine which variables to display when you select a particular category. As you can see, much effort has gone into making the program simpler and more in tune with your needs.

Synopta Lite

We have developed a ‘Lite’ version of Synopta especially for the HortiMaX CX500. Synopta Lite is installed on the IPC, rather than a server, representing a significant cost saving. The Lite version is based on Synopta 3 and comes with every CX500 free of charge.
