Manuel Cazares Castro stressed that tomato growers in Mexico, trust in negotiations with U.S. authorities enabling them to maintain the export of this product to that country.
The chairman of the National Red Tomato Product System, AC said they hope to overcome the controversies that some producers from the state of Florida have made, arguing that Mexican producers have violated some rules.
"What I can say is that we are in the process of negotiation, which had been badly damaged, but thanks to the President of Mexico we could revive negotiations to sign a new agreement," he said.
Cazares Castro commented that tomato growers in the State of Florida, maintained their position on the Mexican product, "It is an injustice, we have a better production and better technology."
He expressed confidence that a good agreement can be reached and maintain tomato exports to the United States, "the Mexican tomato has proven quality."
