The 18th edition of the International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco, SIAM 2026 in Meknès, ran from April 20 to 28 and confirmed its position as one of the key events for the sector in Africa, with more than 1.1 million visitors and participation from 70 countries, as well as a strategic meeting point for the Euro Mediterranean region.

Spanish company Nutricontrol took part with the aim of consolidating its presence in the Moroccan market and, by extension, across North Africa, while continuing its growth in the region.
"With Nutricontrol S.L.'s participation in SIAM Meknès 2026, on one hand we aimed to strengthen our network of local partners through our subsidiary FertiSystemes, based in Agadir for almost 15 years, reinforcing relationships with distributors, technicians, and large scale growers. On the other hand, SIAM is a key showcase to position our technology as a high value solution, especially in a context where resource use efficiency is becoming increasingly critical," says Juan Pablo Martín Sierra, operations director of Nutricontrol in Morocco.

"Our presence also had a very clear focus on bringing to Moroccan growers our concept of a global solution: integrating climate control, fertigation, and digitalization to produce more with fewer resources, while ensuring higher quality and profitability."
Morocco stands out as a strategic market for Nutricontrol. "Our presence through FertiSystémes allows us to operate directly, close to the grower, and adapted to the specific conditions of the territory and crops."
The company's strategy is built on three main pillars, Juan Pablo explains: technical proximity, adaptation of solutions, and ongoing support. "It is not just about selling technology, but about integrating it into the farm and ensuring its correct use to maximize return on investment."
"The growth of high value crops such as avocado, tomato, and berries has driven increasing demand for advanced irrigation, nutrition, and control solutions. In that sense, Morocco has become a key market in our international expansion, not only because of its current scale, but because of its strong potential in export oriented, technology driven agriculture."

UCROP brings a step change in digitalization
During SIAM 2026, Nutricontrol focused on three main technology lines: climate control, advanced fertigation systems, and its digital platform UCROP.
"In greenhouse climate control, we highlight solutions that allow precise management of internal conditions, optimizing variables such as temperature, humidity, and ventilation, which directly translates into improved production and reduced risk."
"In fertigation, our technology enables exact dosing of water and nutrients, adjusted in real time to crop needs, increasing efficiency and reducing operating costs."
"Finally, UCROP represents a step change in digitalization: it integrates all farm data into a single platform, enabling decision making based on real time information."
"Our differentiating value lies in integrating all these solutions into a single technological ecosystem that is easy to use, scalable, and results oriented."

According to the company's operations director in Morocco, the main needs of Moroccan growers are concentrated in three areas: efficient water management, process automation, and digitalization.
"Water scarcity is undoubtedly one of the sector's major challenges, driving strong demand for more precise and efficient irrigation systems. At the same time, the need to reduce costs and optimize resources is accelerating the adoption of automated solutions."
"In terms of digitalization, we are seeing a very clear shift. Growers are no longer just looking for technology, but for tools that allow them to make data driven decisions, anticipate problems, and improve farm planning."
"Overall, demand is moving toward integrated solutions, where technology is not an end in itself, but a means to improve profitability, sustainability, and competitiveness in increasingly demanding markets."
