In one of their greenhouses, Saia Agrobotics has started working with the model-based crop planning platform for fruiting vegetables developed by ProJoules. The collaboration between the two companies marks the beginning of structured cultivation planning for Saia, which is developing a disruptive solution where the robot no longer enters the greenhouse—instead, the plant comes to the robot.
The Saia cultivation system is based on mobile plants that maintain the same length throughout the year. To further develop this concept together with experienced Dutch growers, clear data insights into performance and opportunities are essential. The planning and registration platform from ProJoules can support this.
Tristan Marçal Balk, Greenhouse Innovation Manager at Saia, says: "We are excited to begin working with the ProJoules team. Our cultivation concept is quite unique, so the right structure and insights help us and our partners learn faster and continuously improve the system together."
