New variety of midi cucumbers grown under LED

A grower based in Erica, in the Dutch province of Drenthe, has been cultivating midi cucumbers for the Eastern European market for many years. Around a decade ago, the operation made the move into this crop segment in response to market demand.

In this video, Jari van Dam, representing plant breeding company Bayer De Ruiter, visits grower Jop de Vries. Jop shares his experiences in the midi cucumber segment, his transition to full LED lighting, and his decision to switch to the variety Delicto. This season marks the first time the Drenthe-based cucumber grower has worked with this variety, having previously grown the variety Pacto.
