In southern Spain, Organic Roquetas grows cucumbers and eggplants under organic conditions. For grower Paco, using ReduFuse IR has led to a more balanced climate, healthier plants, and improved crop performance.
"We're always looking for ways to improve how we grow," says Paco, standing among rows of cucumbers in his greenhouse. His company operates between La Mojonera and Roquetas, cultivating crops entirely organically.
Managing light and temperature is part of the daily routine. "Climate control is just as important as irrigation," he explains. "With your support, we've learned a lot about new products that help us create better growing conditions."

From powder to precision
One of the key changes Paco made was switching from traditional powder shading to ReduFuse IR. "It's easy to apply," he says, "but what really convinced me are the results we see in the plants."
Compared to powder, ReduFuse IR offers a gentler, more balanced shading. Paco explains that too much shade leads to elongated, unbalanced plants and can even create conditions for diseases like botrytis. "With ReduFuse IR, the crop is more active. The internodes are shorter, fruits set faster, and overall growth is more dynamic."
More light, less stress
Another benefit Paco noticed is how the greenhouse light behaves, especially in the afternoon. "Because it diffuses the sunlight, ReduFuse IR reduces harsh shadows. The plants get more hours of usable light and it's better quality light too."
As a result, the crop stays healthier and needs fewer plant protection products. "It also helps pollinators, which is an added bonus," Paco says.

A smart and simple step
For growers thinking about making the shift to more technical climate control, Paco has one message.
"Don't hesitate to try ReduFuse IR. It's easy to use and the difference is huge. Honestly, we deal with much more complex systems in the greenhouse. This one is simple to apply, and it works."
Growers want higher PAR light levels
In Spain, mainly in Almería, cucumber, tomato, and pepper growers are currently using ReduFuse IR, says Mario Alvarez, International Account Manager with Lumiforte. "Applications are primarily in "raspa y amagado" structures as well as flat greenhouses."
Growers across different microclimates are benefiting equally from ReduFuse IR due to improved light diffusion and reduced plant heat stress. "Growers were looking for higher PAR light levels, especially during winter, while reducing direct radiation on the plants. The objective was to create healthier, more active crops under more balanced light conditions."
ReduFuse IR diffuses incoming radiation so that light is distributed more evenly throughout the greenhouse, eliminating shadows and preventing direct radiation on the plant. Its IR-reflective properties reduce plant temperature, increasing plant comfort and activity. The result is more PAR and less heat stress, leading to healthier crops.
