Al-Mahwit University Council, chaired on Tuesday, December 30 2025 by University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Shalabi, discussed a proposed study to establish a College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine offering two academic programs.
The meeting also reviewed the possibility of launching an agricultural greenhouse project, aimed at strengthening practical training and supporting the needs of the local community.
The council emphasized the importance of establishing the College of Agriculture for its effective role in supporting local agricultural development and qualifying specialized cadres in the agricultural and veterinary fields.

With the attendance of the university's vice presidents, secretaries, and deans of colleges and relevant centers, the council reviewed a number of academic and administrative issues related to improving educational and administrative performance. It approved several decisions intended to enhance the efficiency of the educational , research process and strengthen the university's institutional performance.
The council also reviewed the latest developments regarding study plans, academic programs, and research projects, stressing the need to continue efforts to achieve the university's strategic objectives and to raise the quality of academic education.
