Mexico: Rising Farms expands with high-tech greenhouse acquisition in San Luis Potosí
Mexican high-tech greenhouse company Rising Farms has announced its latest expansion through the acquisition of a high-tech production facility in San Luis Potosí. With this addition, the company increases its installed capacity by 52% and integrates 350 new employees, bringing its total workforce to 900. Rising Farms now operates a total of 4.1 million square feet (38 hectares) of high-tech greenhouse space.

France: Kultive buys Marchal Greenhouses

French greenhouse company Kultive kicked off 2025 with a big development: CASAY (Coopérative Agricole des Serristes de l'Aube et de l'Yonne), one of its three production organizations, has acquired Marchal greenhouses, a key player in cucumber production in the Grand-Est region. "The takeover was finalized at the end of December, and sales will begin at the end of next week," explains Alexandre Picault, Kultive's General and Sales Director. With 11.5 hectares of greenhouses now under its management, Kultive expects to market approximately 30,000 tons of produce this year.

Gubbels Plantiva: successful relaunch and new name following the acquisition of West Plant Group

After taking over the bankrupt West Plant Group, WPG has completed a successful season. The company credits this achievement to the dedication of its employees, as well as the support and trust of suppliers and customers who stood by the business during a challenging period. In the same announcement, the company revealed its new name: Gubbels Plantiva.

The Flavour Farm wants to acquire RedStar Dinteloord and RedStar Sales

The Flavour Farm is expanding in the Netherlands with the acquisition of RedStar Sales and RedStar Location Dinteloord. "By joining forces, we strengthen our position in the European flavour tomato market and offer additional value for retail partners," says Gert van Straalen, CEO of The Flavour Farm. Final details are currently being worked out in preparation for the acquisition, which is subject to the usual conditions and approvals. Completion is expected during 2025.

tomaté! doubles its greenhouse area in Saint-Damase with the acquisition of Excel-Serres

After doubling its area for seven consecutive years, greenhouse company tomaté! recently announced another expansion—this time through the acquisition of Excel-Serres' assets. Founded in 2021 by Judith and Dominic Lussier, tomaté! is based in Saint-Damase, Québec, and specializes in heirloom-type tomato production. Excel-Serres, also located in Saint-Damase, has been a major producer of pink tomatoes in Québec since 2013 and now becomes tomaté!'s second production site.

Australasian real estate funds manager, Centuria Capital Group has expanded its agriculture real estate platform to $820 million, securing the Perfection Fresh operated 43 hectare glasshouse facility in Two Wells, South Australia.

The asset is Australia's largest hydroponic glasshouse facility and increases Centuria's agricultural portfolio by 25% to more than 150 hectares of glasshouse assets and over 160 hectares of protected cropping agriculture.

NL: New bell pepper greenhouse added for strawberry specialist

From November 1, 2025, Thwan van Gennip Groep (TVG) will take over Joosten Growers' site on Ploegstraat in Someren. The 14.6-hectare sweet pepper greenhouse will be converted after the season into a modern facility for the propagation of strawberry tray plants and cuttings. The conversion is expected to be completed in spring 2026. Current employees of Joosten Growers will join TVG.

Nasdaq First North-listed foodtech company Agtira AB has signed an agreement to acquire Pepino AB, one of Sweden's most established and profitable cucumber growers, along with its associated property company Gurkfast AB. The transaction makes Agtira the largest cucumber producer in Sweden and marks a key step toward group-level profitability.

Dutch berry grower adds another 18 ha and reaches 75 hectares

Starting December 1, 2025, Royal Berry will acquire the greenhouse horticulture facility in Egchel from Limburg's Wijnen Square Crops. This takeover involves a modern 18-hectare greenhouse operation that currently cultivates cucumbers and peppers.

US: Local Roots adds Wisconsin site through Future Farms acquisition

Local Roots has announced the acquisition of Future Farms in Baldwin, Wisconsin. The new site will expand the company's hydroponic production capacity, with a focus on living butterhead and romaine lettuces. The Wisconsin facility complements Local Roots' existing site in Michigan, which cultivates a range of herbs using hydroponic systems.
