CapGen Seeds wrapped up its Panoramix Open Days with a strong response from growers. The event took place on November twenty and twenty one in San Isidro, Níjar, where more than one hundred farmers and technicians visited the field to assess the performance of this new Roma variety for export markets.
Over the two day event, attendees saw first hand the uniformity of the trusses and fruits, the stable average size that remained around one hundred to one hundred ten grams, and the firmness and postharvest life that drew particular attention from commercial operators.

The crop, transplanted on August twenty five and grafted on two leaders, showed balanced growth and consistent fruit set even under warm conditions. Panoramix also stood out for its resilience in high temperatures, holding size and avoiding common issues at this time of year such as blotchy and the so called peseta. The shine, uniformity, and even production across the canopy were easy to spot during the walk through the site.
Virus resistance as a key draw
Panoramix carries resistance to ToBRFV, a point that sparked strong interest among growers during the visit. It also offers resistance to TSWV, adding security for spring and summer cycles.
Growers who attended highlighted the vigor of the plant, its open structure that simplifies labor, and its ability to maintain an even red color without blotchy even under demanding light and temperature conditions.

A variety already backed by commercial leaders
Panoramix continues to gain ground as one of the benchmark Roma options in Almería. Major tomato cooperatives across the country have already added the variety to their recommended programs for the coming season, a vote of confidence that speaks to both its technical and commercial value.
With this event, CapGen Seeds reinforces its commitment to breeding that responds directly to field needs and relies on grower observation. The strong reception of Panoramix during the Open Days confirms its potential as a key variety for the twenty twenty five twenty six season, both for agronomic performance and commercial appeal. The company will keep rolling out technical activities in the main production areas to support growers in their planning for the next campaign.
