Opportunities are growing for Indian Creek students. A new greenhouse was unveiled Thursday morning. It will be used primarily by agriculture students at the high school and FFA members, but younger students will also benefit from it.
The new greenhouse sits not far from the location of the previous facility, where the fieldhouse and performing arts center now stand. Superintendent Matt Prusiecki said the new location is primed to serve students across all Indian Creek school buildings.
"This is truly a community effort, support for the growth and development of our children and the community itself," Prusiecki said. Principal Luke Skobel said this project has been five years in the making with many setbacks along the way, including COVID-19 and inflation costs. Now, with the project completed, he is excited about the opportunities it will bring to students.
"It's really a commitment to the future of our kiddos and the opportunities that they're going to have to do some hands-on learning," Skobel said. Agriculture students are ready to get their hands dirty.
