CAN: ACT Summit returns to Quebec in September

The ACT Group, a collaboration of four leading horticulture providers, will host their 3rd ACT Quebec Grower Summit in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, on Tuesday, September 23. This year's theme, "Insights and Opportunities for a Changing World: From Growers. For Growers," highlights the focus on current trends and innovations in the horticulture industry.

ACT Group members, including Grodan, Philips LED Lighting, Priva, and Svensson, are inviting local commercial growers to the Saint-Hyacinthe summit. The event aims to provide insights into the latest research and technological applications designed to enhance greenhouse operations and drive cost-effectiveness.

The program will commence with a "State of the Industry" keynote address by Sue Lewis (pictured right), Vice© Priva President of Marketing and Events at the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA). A notable addition to this year's agenda is "Conversations in Cultivation," a dynamic panel discussion featuring experienced local Quebec growers. They will share valuable insights and expert knowledge about the industry, offering practical advice and inspiration for both aspiring and seasoned growers.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about advanced humidity control and achieving climate uniformity from Svensson. Additionally, Grodan and Philips LED Lighting will present findings from an ongoing tomato trial in Botany, Netherlands, aimed at reducing heat input by 40%. Priva will discuss maximizing integrated greenhouse data for autonomous cultivation and management, with representatives from IUNU and Blue Radix joining this presentation.

The day will conclude with a networking happy hour from 5:00-6:00 PM, featuring complimentary appetizers and beverages, sponsored by IUNU and Blue Radix. The Quebec summit will take place at the Convention Centre of Saint-Hyacinthe, running from 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Attendees will be provided with a complimentary lunch starting at 11:30 AM, and the program will begin promptly at 12:15 PM.
